KATHMANDU, Jan 21: Dharan Sub-metropolitan City Mayor Harka Sampang, who arrived in Kathmandu on Monday with an empty pitcher to demand better drinking water facilities for Dharan, reached the Ministry of Drinking Water at Singha Durbar on Tuesday.
Sampang’s visit is part of his ongoing protest for the federal government to address the city's drinking water issues. Although he had initially planned to enter Singha Durbar with the empty pitcher, it was removed by the police before he proceeded.

Before coming to Kathmandu, Mayor Sampang had demonstrated at Bhanu Chowk in Dharan, also carrying the empty pitcher as a symbol of the city's water crisis. His visit to the ministry aims to pressure both the Prime Minister and the Minister for Water Supply to take immediate action regarding the ongoing water shortage in Dharan.
