“We are still doing homework to settle the internal differences. We decided that we should finish the task at the earliest and hold the meeting,” said Narayankaji Shrestha.[break]
He said that the party top leaders would meet on Wednesday and fix the date for a meeting of the party standing committee.
The Maoists have also fixed the names of the party´s nominees for appointment in the various constitutional bodies that have remained vacant.
“We have decided to request the government to fill the vacant positions in various constitutional bodies,” said Shrestha. He, however, declined to divulge the names of the candidates the party has decided to recommend.
Shrestha argued that the party would speed up talks with other parties on the implementation of the five-point deal.
Owing to internal disputes over the party´s tactical line and power sharing, the Maoists have not been able to resume the postponed central committee (CC) meeting.
The party had stated that it would hold a meeting of the standing committee to narrow down the differences prior to resuming the CC. But the differences runs so deep that the party has not even been able to hold a meeting of the standing committee.
