Issuing a press statement, Bhattarai refuted media reports that she was nominated as CAN member due to her father Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai´s influence.[break]
"A section is trying to create confusion and draw the PM into controversy just because I am his daughter," Manusisaid in the statement.
National Sports Council (NSC) confirmed that Bhattarai and Deepak Saud were nominated as the members of CAN not under political pressure.
Some of the daily newspapers on Saturday reported that Manusi was appointed as CAN member under direct orders from PM Bhattarai.
