Man missing for 13 days found dead in Taplejung

TAPLEJUNG, May 13: A man, who had been missing for 13 days, was found dead in Taplejung.


Manoj Thopra Limbu, a 34-year-old resident of Dhungesanghu Gairigaun, Maiwakhola Rural Municipality–1 in Taplejung, was found dead on Monday.

According to Chandra Kumar Tamang, spokesperson of Maiwakhola Rural Municipality and chairperson of ward Number -1, Limbu’s body was discovered near the bank of the Maiwakhola River, which flows along the border of Maiwakhola and Meringden Rural Municipalities.


Limbu had gone missing on April 30, 2025, and his family had been continuously searching for him. After 13 days of efforts, his body was finally located.


The body was taken to Taplejung District Hospital on Monday evening for a post-mortem. The police stated that the body will be handed over to the family after the post-mortem. An investigation into the incident has been initiated by the District Police Office.
