BIRTAMOD, Oct 15: A man has been arrested for killing his wife during a domestic dispute in Jhapa district.
According to DSP Krishna Kumar Chand of the District Police Office, Jhapa, Bir Bahadur Chauhan, 46, was apprehended for the murder of his 37-year-old wife, Muna Chauhan, in Arjundhara Municipality-3, Darjeeling Danda.

The incident occurred around 4:00 pm on Monday when Bir Bahadur struck his wife on the neck with an iron rod, killing her on the spot. He fled the scene immediately after the incident.
Upon receiving information about his escape, police teams from the District Police Office, Jhapa, and the Area Police Office, Anarmani, were deployed to track him down. He was eventually arrested, along with weapons, while hiding in the Jukekhadi forest of Arjundhara Municipality.
Bir Bahadur is currently being held at the Area Police Office, Anarmani, where further investigations are underway, DSP Chand said.
