Sokhilal Sardar Tharu, 46, of Indrapur VDC -3 in Morang was arrested by the area police office (APO) in Balbari for producing fake death certificate of his wife Shanti Sardar Tharu. [break]
Sokhilal had informed the VDC office after Shanti went missing for 10 days from January 15 to January 25. He had later informed the VDC office that he had found his wife´s body on February 5 and made her death certificate. Shanti has, however, has already returned home.
According to locals, the Tharu couple often quarreled with each other. One month ago, the area police had even mediated the dispute between them. According to APO, Sokhilal might have made the fake death certificate of his wife after he went out of home for 10 days without informing him.
However, the police still have no clue about why Sokhilal made his wife´s death certificate. Inspector Sanjay Singh Thapa at the area police office said investigation into the incident is on. “We will file a case against Sokhilal for making a fake document,” added he.
