KATHMANDU, July 19: Majority of central committee members of CPN-UML have recommended that the party should file the candidacy of its Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal in the election of the prime minister until the basis for political understanding exists, according to UML leader Gokarna Bista.

Bista, who is believed to be close to Khanal, said that majority members speaking in the central committee meeting that is underway in the party headquarters in Balkhu, opined that the party should first stake claim to lead a majority government and then efforts should be concerted to make such a government based on political understanding by inducting as many parties as possible in the government.

According to Bista, the members suggested that the CPN-UML should act in such a way as to bring UCPN-M and Nepali Congress together.
