POKHARA, July 5: Home Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara on Tuesday directed the security officials to remain on high alert and be ready to tackle eventualities that may arise after August 31, when the extended term of the Constituent Assembly (CA) will expire.

Addressing the Western Regional Security Conference that kicked off on Tuesday, the home minister said the security staffs should not bother about the change of governments but focus on making proper security arrangements. He said that inter-party conflict has been affecting the security situation.[break]

“I have not assumed the post of home minister to earn money. I am determined to free security agencies of corruption,” Mahara added.

Chief District Officers from 16 districts, Chief of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force (APF) and head of National Investigation Department are taking part in the two-day conference.
