DHANUSHA, Oct 25: The Madhesh province government has announced an additional public holiday for October 28, the fourth day of the Chhath festival.
Issuing a notice about a public holiday on Friday, the Ministry of Home, Communications and Law under the province decided to announce a public holiday across the province to conclude the Chhath festival by offering prayers to the shining sun on October 28 (Tuesday).

According to a notice issued by the Ministry's deputy secretary, Ganesh Nayak, it was announced that the Madhesh province government had included an extra day of holiday for the Chhath festival in the provincial gazette last April.
He informed that the extra public holiday has been granted for October 28 accordingly.
The federal government has already declared a public holiday across the country for the coming Monday (October 27) to offer prayers to the setting sun on the following day of Chhath.
