During the six-day workshop, 25 students will learn the values of entrepreneurship and also be taught the various requirements of building new businesses.[break]
“We get around 100 applications per batch but we only take in 25 students. This is a very competitive process. We select an applicant on the basis of his application form and a group discussion,” said Manogya Sharma, Coalitions Relations Associate at Samriddhi.
“We started Arthâlaya because we wanted the youth to know the values of direct entrepreneurship and the development that is a result of it. When young people are sensitized towards economic development, the country will prosper. We’ve had around 350 students in the past, and 40 among them run their own businesses now.”

Manish Bikram Shah, 27, an aspiring economist, shares his experience at last year’s workshop, “The whole experience was fun. Basically, I went there to learn about entrepreneurship. An economic background wasn’t needed, so there were people from different education backgrounds. We learnt about team building, creating business ideas and we had presentations and debates too.”
Anyone between 18 to 26 years of age and currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate program in any faculty is eligible to join the workshop.
The first deadline for the application has been scheduled for July 24 and the final deadline is July 29. Scholarships up to 50 and 70 percent are also available and will be awarded on first-come-first-served basis.
Selected students need to pay a fee of Rs 4,999 for the workshop to be held from August 9 to 14 in Dhulikhel.
Application forms are available at Samriddhi’s office located at Bhimsengola Marg, Min Bhawan, and on their website, www.samriddhi.org.
