“The meeting ended up being a fiasco. The party Chairman [Pushpa Kamal Dahal] walked out of the meeting within 5 minutes saying he had a headache, and PLA chief [Nanda Kishor Pun] made remarks at the meeting insulting us,” said Indra Angbuhang, vice-coordinator of YCL Limbuwan State Committee. According to Angbuhang, Pun told the meeting that the party only has Rs 180 million to give to the YCL members.
“We disagree with Pun´s statement. It will not solve the problem,” said Angbuhang.
Besides Dahal, PLA commanders and YCL leaders were present at the meeting held at the Maoist headquarters in Parisdanda.
“We attended the meeting not to beg for money but to demand transparency in the PLA fund,” said Ashal Khadka, vice-coordinator of YCL Magarat State Committee.
He also informed that they will meet Chairman Dahal, General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa on Saturday.
The meeting also formed a taskforce comprising PLA deputy commander Chandra Prakash Khanal, YCL coordinator Ganesh Man Pun and YCL vice-coordinator Uma Bhujel to finalize the data of YCL members who were former combatants.
