Lawmakers blame ministers of draining budget into their home districts

KATHMANDU, July 3: Lawmakers of different political parties have blamed the ministers of allocating huge amount of budget in their respective districts.

KATHMANDU, July 3: Lawmakers of different political parties have blamed the ministers of allocating huge amount of budget in their respective districts.



While taking part in the deliberation on budget appropriation in the Legislature-Parliament meeting today, the lawmakers complained that although the budget was popular, it was not balanced at all.



They also said the directly elected and those (lawmakers) elected under the proportional quota treated the constituency development fund differently. They pointed out the lack of budget for the transport infrastructures in Karnali.



Discussion was held on the topics relating to the ministries of supply, energy, cooperatives and poverty alleviation, women, children and social Welfare, defense, foreign affairs, federal affairs and local development, physical infrastructure and transport management, urban development ministries as well as Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Offices of the President and the Vice-President.



Respective ministers would respond the questions raised by lawmakers in the meetings after July 6. The Parliament is to meet next on at 11:00 am Monday. RSS
