Landslips disrupt Araniko Highway for past 6 days

CHAUTARA, July 28: Hundred of tourists and loaded trucks have been stranded after the vehicular service disruption for six days following the landslips along the Bahrabise to Tatopani road section of the Araniko Highway.



At least 300 Kathmandu bound loaded vans have been stranded after the incessant rainfall swept away five meters long road in Daklang. [break]



Tatopani Customs Office informed RSS that the office lost millions of revenue collection each day due to the highway disruption.



Efforts to clear the landslip are underway but the process was delayed as the landslide is continuing due to continuous rainfall, said engineer Niraj Shakya.



The locals and businesspersons have been badly affected after the only trade lane to China was disrupted for long.
