KATHMANDU, Jan 23: Rabi Lamichhane, the chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) appeared before the Rupandehi District Court on Thursday for detention hearing.
Lamichhane, who was arrested in connection with the fraud case involving Butwal's Supreme Savings and Credit Cooperative, was released on his own recognizance on Wednesday. He appeared in court for the detention hearing which began today.

Yesterday, Rupandehi District Court Judge Pralhad Kumar Yogi's bench handed Lamichhane to his wife Nikita Paudel and a legal professional on the condition that he appears on Thursday.
In the case related to savings embezzlement, Lamichhane’s statement was completed on Wednesday. From today, the court will start the detention hearing.
