KATHMANDU, Dec 25: In the Lalitpur incident where a young man was stabbed to death in Chyasal, the police have released one of the detainees.
The police have released 41-year-old Padam Lal Bhatta from Darchula, who was arrested on charges of murdering Nayan Gurung, 23, a native of Itahari, Sunsari, residing in Satdobato.

The police had arrested three individuals, including Bhatta, on charges of Gurung's murder. However, during the preliminary investigation, Padamlal's involvement was not established, leading to his release, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Navaratna Paudel of the District Police Office, Lalitpur.
The police have detained Hemraj Bhatta, 26, a resident of Parshuram Municipality-11 in Dadeldhura, currently working at the counter of The Town Café in Chyasal, Ward 9 of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, and Janak Bahadur Tamang, a resident of Mandandeupur Municipality-11 in Kavre, also working at the same café. The investigation has begun after obtaining a remand against them on charges of murder.
Hemraj Bhatta is reported to have carried out the stabbing. Preliminary investigations revealed that the stabbing occurred during a dispute over paying the dinner bill.
After passing his engineering entrance exam, Gurung went to the café to celebrate with friends. During the payment of the bill, a dispute arose within the group of around seven to eight people. Around 9:15 PM, Gurung was stabbed during the altercation. Severely injured, he was rushed to B&B Hospital in Gwarko for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries at 10 PM.
