The three traders were arrested on the charge of smuggling weapons and explosives along with fruits and have been taken to Nawalparasi for further investigation, the area police office, Krishnanagar has said.[break]
However, the Krishnanagar Chamber of Commerce and Industry has said that it was wrong to have taken them to Nawalparasi, and they should have been investigated inside the same district of arrest.
Those arrested include traders Dhananjaya Singh, Riyaz Ahmed and Dilip Yadav. They are involved in the wholesale trade of fruits in Krishnanagar for the past 15 years, the Chamber has said.
