KATHMANDU, May 14: Han Moon Hee, Chairman and CEO of Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL), led a delegation that met Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Tuesday to discuss railway development in Nepal.
During the meeting at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar, the 126-year-old Korean company expressed interest in collaborating on Nepal's railway projects. Sky Walk Company presented an animation of the proposed Everest Railway Project, envisioning a rail link from Chatara Dham to Chaurikharka.

Prime Minister Oli, accompanied by Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal and Investment Board CEO Sushil Gyawali, noted that Nepal has already launched railway operations in Janakpur. He emphasized ongoing feasibility studies for expanding rail infrastructure and welcomed the Korean initiative as a positive step.
Earlier, the Korean delegation met officials from the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and the Investment Board. Both sides agreed to form a joint working group for further studies and collaboration.
