KDBC and Angelo State University exchange Memorandum of Agreement

KATHMANDU, April 8: As per the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) exchanged by Kathmandu Don Bosco College (KDBC) and Angelo State University (ASU) of the US on Friday, students who enroll in KDBC for the four-year Bachelor's of Business Administration (BBA) program can study the last two years in ASU, provided they meet the academic requirements.

On behalf of President Dr Brian J May of ASU, Dr Won-Jae Lee, executive director (Asian Relations to the Provost and VPAA, ASU) exchanged the agreements with Prof Dr Sriram Bhagut Mathe, chairperson of KDBC and other associated colleges.The two institutions also exchanged another agreement enabling direct enrollment of students of KDBC and its associate institutions namely Xavier Academy, Little Angels' College, White House Higher Secondary School, Asian Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Kanjirowa National Higher Secondary School (KNHSS), and Ideal Model Higher Secondary School in ASU for the BBA program.

Prof Dr Mathe; Kapil Dev Regmi, executive director of KNHSS; and Samjhana Kharel, principal of KNHSS had visited ASU in October last year and had signed and exchanged Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), on the basis of which the MoAs have been signed.

Prof Mathe shared, "These partnership agreements will be valid for five years, with possibility of extension. And this will make further studies in the US more affordable as there are some scholarship schemes for deserving students. SAT and TOEFL are not mandatory to KDBC students, provided that they are proficient in English."

It was also informed at the event that Dr Lee, during his current visit to Nepal, has met officials from the National Planning Commission, Ministry of Education of Nepal, and US Embassy to discuss on how to materialize the agreements. He is also said to have talked about future collaboration and cooperation. In the meantime, Dr Lee also visited and made formal presentations in Little Angel's College, Xavier's Academy, Kanjirowa and AITM on study prospects in ASU.
