KATHMANDU, Jan 6: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor and senior Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Senior Leader Balendra Shah has submitted a written statement to the Gauri Bahadur Karki-led probe committee regarding the Gen Z protests of September 8 and 9.
Sources said the commission questioned him about his whereabouts during the protests and his social media activity, among other matters. He was also asked about the burning of Singha Durbar.

The commission has already recorded statements from former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, the heads of all four security agencies, and other senior government officials.
The Karki-led commission was formed to investigate the material and physical losses incurred during the protests, identify the underlying causes, and examine the possible actors behind the vandalism on September 9.
Shah had previously visited the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on December 7 to record his statement.
