KATHMANDU, Oct 11: The District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu, has decided not to allow the motorcycle rally planned by the youth wing of the CPN-UML in the Capital on Saturday.
According to a notice issued by Chief District Officer Ishwor Raj Poudel, information had been received about several groups preparing to organise motorcycle rallies and mass gatherings at different locations in the district. The DAO said such activities could “affect peace and security,” recalling that earlier Gen Z protests had disrupted law and order.
“The decision has been made not to grant approval for any such assemblies or rallies due to the possibility of disruptions to peace and security,” the administration said. It further urged all concerned to refrain from actions that could disturb public order or face legal action under the Local Administration Act and the Police Act.
