SIRAHA, July 16: Kalyanpur Municipality Mayor Rampukar Sah was caught red-handed on Wednesday while accepting a bribe of Rs 100,000 inside his office.
A team from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Bardibas, arrested Sah after he allegedly demanded 20 percent commission from a consumer committee for the release of payment on a completed Rs 2 million drainage project.

According to CIAA officials, Sah had withheld the project’s payment cheque after the committee resisted the demand. He later pressured them to provide Rs 100,000 upfront and the remaining sum after the cheque was cleared.
The CIAA confirmed the arrest and said further investigation is underway.
