A meeting of Suganga Prize Memorial Fund held on Sunday took the decision in this regard. The prize carries a purse of Rs 25,005. The prize would be handed over on July 3 at a programme to be organised at Baglung on the memorial day of late Ganga Khadka, said Fund Chairman Kaji Roshan.
Born in Amalachour in Baglung, Pathak has been involved in the field of journalism since the past two decades and has also authored various books on right to information and journalism.
The prize was established by senior journalist of Baglung, Bidur Khadka in memory of his late mother Sumitra Khadka and wife Ganga Khadka. Journalist Pathak is the sixth personality to be honoured with the prize following ABC Television journalist Shuva Shanker Kandel, social worker Dev Bahadur Shrestha, folk singer Khadak Garbuja, social worker Bhola Prasad Lamsal and Magsaysay award winner Mahabir Pun.
