Kathmandu, Aug 7: Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri is set to visit Nepal in the first week of Bhadra (mid-August) to extend an official invitation to visit India to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on behalf of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Misri's visit is tied to PM Oli's upcoming visit to India, which is being planned for the second week of September. A source confirmed that Misri will be bringing the formal invitation from PM Modi for Oli's official visit.
MoFA Spokesperson Lok Bahadur Paudyal Kshetri confirmed Misri's scheduled visit to Nepal. “The visit of the Indian Foreign Secretary has been confirmed. Detailed information will be shared later,” he said.

Following Oli’s return to the premiership, there have been reports suggesting India had not been keen on engaging with him. Despite a year having passed since his appointment, India had yet to invite him for an official visit until now.
Sources claimed that PM Modi is inviting PM Oli for an official visit in the second week of September.
