KATHMANDU, Nov 19: India has extended financial assistance of Rs 16.2 million for the Chapbhanjyang Drinking Water Supply Project in Dhading district.

The assistance was a part of India-Nepal Economic Cooperation Program. The Ward No 8 of Chapbhanjyang VDC had been facing acute shortage of drinking water as most of the water sources dried up after the earthquake.
"The water supply project which is to be executed by DDC, Dhading will benefit almost 250 households," a press release issued on Wednesday said. Apart from this, Neel Kantha Campus building in the district has also been constructed with Indian assistance. India has also gifted seven ambulances and a school in Dhading district.The India-Nepal Economic Cooperation Programme has an outlay of over NRs 76 billion with more than 514 large and small development projects completed or being implemented in almost all the districts of Nepal, the release added.
