India gifts 20 ambulances, 4 buses to Nepal

KATHMANDU, Jan 26: Twenty ambulances and four buses have been gifted by the government of India to various hospitals, non-profit charitable organizations and educational institutions in eighteen districts in Nepal on the occasion of the 64th Republic Day of India.



A public function was held in the premises of Embassy of India in the capital on saturday to mark the Day. On the occasion, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Jayant Prasad hoisted the national flag and read out the Address of the President of India, delivered on the nation on 25th January.[break]



The ambassador presented seventeen ambulances and four buses to recipient organizations from 15 districts.



The remaining three ambulances were gifted by Consul General of India at Birgunj, Ashutosh Agrawal to organizations coming under the consular jurisdiction of Consulate General of India, Birgunj.



Senior politician from India Murali Manohar Joshi was also present on the occasion.



Since1994, the India Government has gifted 382 ambulances to various organizations across 70 districts in Nepal.
