India donates 20 ambulances, four buses

KATHMANDU, Jan 26: India on Thursday donated 20 ambulances and four buses to various hospitals, non-profit charitable organizations and educational institutions of 21 districts in Nepal on the occasion of the 62nd Republic Day of India.



According to press statement issued by Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, Ambassador Rakesh Sood presented sixteen ambulances and four buses to organizations from 17 districts at a public function organized in the embassy´s premise on Wednesday. [break]



The remaining four ambulances were gifted by Consul General of India at Birgunj to organizations under the consular jurisdiction of Consulate General of India, Birgunj.



At the function, the ambassador also presented books to 36 educational and training institutions located in different regions of Nepal, including some remote districts. Since 1994, India has gifted 302 ambulances to various organizations across 68 districts in Nepal. L



ikewise, it has donated 58 buses to various educational and welfare institutions of 24 districts.
