KATHMANDU, March 29: Minister for Home Affairs Ramesh Lekhak inspected the Tinkune area on Saturday, where agitating supporters of the former king carried out vandalism and arson on Friday.
During Friday's protest, monarchists set fire to buildings, party offices, and vehicles, killing two people.

The police have lifted the curfew imposed until 7 am today. They confirmed that the situation is now normal and that no further curfew will be enforced, but they have intensified surveillance.
The police stated that although the pro-monarchy protesters received permission for a peaceful protest, they broke into restricted areas and vandalized private property, hospitals, media houses, and vehicles.
Sabin Maharjan and Suresh Rajak died in the incident. Fifty-three police officers, 22 armed police personnel, and 35 protesters were injured. Monarchists set fire to nine government and six private vehicles. They torched 14 locations, and vandalized nine sites.
The police have arrested over a hundred people involved in the incident and begun the necessary investigation.
