Himalaya Airlines becomes first airline in Nepal to achieve ISO certification

KATHMANDU, Jan 25: Himalaya Airlines, a Nepal-China-joint venture, has become the first airline in Nepal to successfully achieve the ISO 9001-2015 QMS certification.

KATHMANDU, Jan 25: Himalaya Airlines, a Nepal-China-joint venture, has become the first airline in Nepal to successfully achieve the ISO 9001-2015 QMS certification. 


Issuing a statement, the airline said that it earned the ISO certificate for ‘Providing Air Transport for Traveling Passengers and Freight, including Aviation Related Training Services’. The airline received the certificate on December 29, 2021 in recognition of the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS) which complies with ISO 9001-2015.

ISO 9001:2015 certificate no. 120057/A/0001/UK/En was issued to Himalaya Airlines by the United Registrar of System and United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS). The company said that it fulfilled meticulous documentation processes, successfully completed the audit process, verifying that the company’s QMS satisfies all the applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.


ISO 9001:2015 is a globally recognized quality management standard developed and published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) which ensures that the products and services meet the needs of customers, through an effective quality management system.
