High level team starts probe on Lahan incident

GOLBAZAR, Siraha, July 14: The High Level Probe Team formed for investigation of the beating by a police patrolling team at Hotel Bishal in Lahan in Siraha district has started investigation from Friday.



The three-member team led by convener and Home Ministry Joint Secretary Krishnahari Puskar started the probe.[break]



Other members are Sagarmatha Zonal Police Office, Rajbiraj, Chief and SSP Govind Niraula and District Administration Office, Siraha, Assistant Chief District Officer, Janardan Gautam.



SSP Niraula´s patrolling personnel who were involved in the beating were also enquired by Joint Secretary Puskar.



Patrolling police had beaten up Hotel Bishal owner and Chamber Former Chairman Niras Chaudhary, Hotel Manager Sunil Saha and hotel clients on Wednesday night following a tip off of some criminal staying in the hotel.



Lahan businessmen had resorted to agitation by closing markets after the beating.
