KATHMANDU, April 21: The habeas corpus writ petition filed on behalf of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane has been deferred due to delay in hearing.
Lamichhane's writ, which was filed on Sunday, was not able to be heard by the bench of Judge Hari Prasad Phuyal today.

On Sunday, Lamichhane’s wife, Nikita Paudel, filed a petition on his behalf, claiming that he is being held in illegal detention at the Bhairahawa Jail in connection with the cooperative fraud case.
Earlier, a writ petition was filed at the Supreme Court demanding the annulment of the order issued by the Butwal bench of the High Court Tulsipur to remand Lamichhane into custody.
Lamichhane is currently in custody at the Rupandehi jail in connection with the Supreme Cooperative fraud and organized crime case in Rupandehi.
