LAMJUNG, March 28: A sudden gust of windstorm accompanied by hailstones once again displaced earthquake victims in northern Lamjung.

Locals of Dudh Pokhari, Ilampokhari and Gaunda, which are located close to Barpak, the epicenter of last April's devastating earthquake, were the hardest hit by the windstorm and hailstones of Sunday afternoon, which again reappeared on Monday."The windstorms have already blown away makeshift shelters and corrugated zinc sheets," Prakash Dawadi, a local of Bichaur, informed. According to him, the rains accompanied by windstorm made their clothes and food items wet.

"It was quite tough for quake-affected locals to protect their children from the chilly weather and to cook food after the windstorm and rain," another local of Bichaur, Ram Bahadur Bhujel, said.

Locals were terrified and worried by the sudden change in weather, according to Bhujel.

Walls of some houses were also damaged by the windstorm and hailstones that continued to batter for a while, Bhujel informed.

"The chilly weather after the sudden windstorm and rains made our lives harder, a quake-hit local Madhavi Dawadi said.

Similarly, hailstones and windstorm also affected farmers in the district by damaging their vegetable farms.
