Hackers breach  National ID and Registration Department website, issues 24-hour ultimatum to release Durga Prasai

KATHMANDU, Nov 18: The website of the National ID and Registration Department under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has been hacked, disrupting all services related to national identity cards since Tuesday morning, officials confirmed.



According to officials, the hacker left a message claiming to be from a group called “Nepali for Nepal,” describing itself as an institution “committed to protecting the nation’s future.”

The hacker posted an ultimatum demanding the release of medical entrepreneur and civil campaigner Durga Prasai within 24 hours. The message also claims to have gained administrator-level access to the Department’s system and full access to its data.
