At a face-to-face program organized at the Reporter´s club in Kathmandu, one of the victims Lal Hamal of Jumla put forward their miseries for being deprived of the same.[break]
The local people were fed up when their plea of reimbursement was not heard even after 35 years by any of the concerned agencies.
They claimed that even after decision of providing a compensation of Rs. 3,249,476 to the affected people, the Finance Ministry ceased the process of documentation, asking for more papers to be produced for the same.
The group, led by Khadga Bahadur Shahi blamed the concerned officials of trying to take bribe from the impoverished people.
They also requested to punish the guilty for their misdeed. They even have promised enough witnesses including records of phone conversations.
They also appealed to all the media to raise voice against corruption prevalent in different government agencies of Nepal and get rid of the hindrance of speedy development of the nation as well as its people.
