KATHMANDU, Sept 24: The government has urged the civil servants not to disseminate materials related to activities on the protest, shutdown and the agitation going on in different parts of the country that are likely to disturb the racial and social goodwill.

There is a debate ongoing in the social networking sites expressing reaction to the agitation waged by the disgruntled parties and groups. The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has directed all the ministries to issue circulars to their respective subordinate bodies asking the civil servants to desist from posting such materials on the social networking sites.

The circulars have been issued in view of the dissemination, of late, in the social sites of materials that are harmful to the norms and values of various ethnic groups, religions and culture and that are likely to disturb the social harmony as these are likely to have adverse impact on the law and order, the Ministry of Information and Communications stated.
