KATHMANDU, Dec 27: Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has accused the government of discouraging private sector and traders in the name of controlling black market.

FNCCI's executive committee meeting held on Sunday summed up that the government was discouraging private sector by issuing arrest warrants to different firms and officials on a haphazard basis even though they have been carrying businesses legally.

"Government agencies should take action against traders and business firms only after carrying out necessary investigations and staying within legal limits," FNCCI said in a statement.

The apex body of Nepali private sector has also urged the government to ensure smooth supply of fuel and raw materials to industries. The meeting also decided to put pressure on the government to immediately resolve issues related to Tarai unrest and Indian blockade, control black market of goods, and smoothen supply of essential commodities.
