KATHMANDU, Jan 14: The prices of gold and silver in the local market hit new records today. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), gold rose by Rs 1,500 per tola, reaching Rs 278,000. On Tuesday, it was Rs 276,500.
Similarly, silver increased by Rs 315 per tola, trading at Rs 5,655, up from Rs 5,340 on Tuesday, FENEGOSIDA reported.

Traders attributed the rise in gold and silver prices to fluctuations in the US dollar and global economic uncertainties.
According to international media, in today’s global market, one ounce of gold is trading at USD 4,635, while silver is priced at USD 90 per ounce.
