KATHMANDU, Nov 15: The price of gold in the domestic market soared by Rs 11,300 per tola (11.6638 grams) last week.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), the price rose to Rs 249,700 from Rs 238,400 per tola when the market closed the previous week. On Sunday, the precious yellow metal gained Rs 200, while the price increased by Rs 2,900 the next day. On Tuesday, the price increased by Rs 4,900 while it declined by Rs 2,100 on Wednesday. The price of precious metal saw a whopping gain of Rs 5,900 on Thursday, followed by a moderation of Rs 500 per tola on Friday to close for the week.

The FENEGOSIDA said the price escalated during the review period due to an easing shutdown of the US government along with the uncertainty on the world’s largest economy.
Along with gold, the price of silver also inclined by Rs 265 per tola in the Nepali market. The price soared to Rs 3,285 from Rs 3,020 per tola in the review period.
