KATHMANDU, Oct 16: UCPN (Maoist)’s Onsari Gharti and Ratraiya Prajatantra Party-Nepal RPP-N)’s Ganga Prasad Yadav have fielded their candidacies for the posts of Speaker and Deputy Speaker on behalf of ruling coalition on Friday.
CPN-UMl Vice Chairperson Bidhya Bhandari proposed names of Gharti and Yadav while RPP-N’s Kunti Shahi and Bahujan Samajwadi party’s Biswendra Paswan seconded it.
Meanwhile, Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWPP) has also fielded its candidates for the posts of Speaker and Deputy Speakers.
Anuradha Thapa of NWPP fielded her candidacy for the post of Speaker while Dilli Prasad Kafley fielded for the post of Deputy Speaker.
Earlier today, Rastriya Prajatantra Party–Nepal (RPP-N) had decided to field its lawmaker Ganga Prasad Yadav as candidate for the post of Deputy Speaker.
According to Mohan Shrestha,RPP-N Co- Spokesperson, the party decided to this effect follwoing UCPN-M's decision to field outgoing Deputy Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar for the post of speaker.
Earlier, RPP-Nepal had named its lawmaker Kunti Kumari Shahi as candidate for post.
RPP-N reversed its earlier decision as the UCPN (M) fielded female candidate for the post of Speaker.
