KATHMANDU, Jan 12: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma offered an 18-point self-instrospection of the party’s past actions during his organizational report at the closed-door session of the party’s Second Special General Convention on Monday.
Sharma emphasized that the Gen Z activists who led the movement must also conduct their own self-review and take responsibility for their actions. Presenting his report at the convention in Kathmandu at the Special General Convention venue Bhrikutimandap, he highlighted that youth protesters should reflect on their demonstrations and accept responsibility only for what they themselves initiated and participated in.

He said, “Back in 2042 BS, when the Nepali Congress was conducting a Satyagraha, the party suspended the movement in certain areas after bomb blasts occurred. That was one of the highest moral decisions in our history. Today, Gen Z protesters must also review their actions and accept responsibility in proportion to their own calls, participation, and deeds.”
Addressing the events of September 8–9, Sharma reiterated, “Let me repeat—Gen Z did not come from space. They grew up in our communities; they are members of our families. They were not against the democratic system, but against its flaws. They stood for good governance, seeking new hope against despair.”
He also noted that many lives were lost and the country suffered destruction due to the lack of foresight from the state.
