KATHMANDU, Jan 11: President of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) and Nepali Congress Baitadi district president Chatur Bahadur Chand has said that the Nepali Congress (NC) had been in a “coma” for the past four months.
Addressing the ongoing special general convention of the Nepali Congress (NC) in Kathmandu on Sunday, Chand praised General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwo Prakash Sharma for playing a key role in reviving the party by providing it with “life support” (oxygen).

“After the Gen Z movement, the NC was pushed down and dragged along, but bringing the party to this point required great courage,” Chand said. “I would like to thank everyone who made efforts to awaken the NC that was in a coma by providing it with life support.”
He claimed that the NC is now moving forward toward reclaiming its position as the guardian party of the country. Accusing the other two major political parties of failing to give the public a sense of change, Chand asserted that only the NC is capable of bringing real change to the country.
During his address, Chand also stressed the need to promote young leadership within the party.
