Four-nation women's football championship kicks off today, Nepal to face Kyrgyzstan

The opening match will feature Myanmar and Lebanon at the Dashrath Stadium at 2 pm. Myanmar is the highest-ranked team in the ongoing tournament, ranked 55th in FIFA's rankings. Nepal is ranked 103rd in this ranking, while Kyrgyzstan is ranked 128th and Lebanon is ranked 134th.

KATHMANDU, Feb 17: The four-nation women's football championship is kicking off in Kathmandu today. The tournament, which includes Nepal, Lebanon, Kyrgyzstan and Myanmar, will have two matches today.


The opening match will feature Myanmar and Lebanon at the Dashrath Stadium at 2 pm. Myanmar is the highest-ranked team in the ongoing tournament, ranked 55th in FIFA's rankings. Nepal is ranked 103rd in this ranking, while Kyrgyzstan is ranked 128th and Lebanon is ranked 134th.

Today, the home team Nepal will also play its first match. The Nepali team will compete against Kyrgyzstan, which is set to kick off at 6 pm. The match will be broadcast live by Kantipur Television Max. Tickets will be provided by Khalti at the stadium. The fee for the general parapet is Rs 500 and Rs 1000 for the VIP side.


The Nepali team includes the goalkeeper-Anjila Tumbapo Subba, Anjana Rana Magar, Usha Nath;  defenders- Amrita Jaishi, Gita Rana, Bimala BK, Puja Rana, Nisha Thokar, Samiksha Ghimire, Bimala Chaudhary, Man Maya Damai; midfielders- Anita Basnet, Renuka Nagarkoti, Preeti Rai, Saru Limbu, Sabita Rana Magar, Renuka Hamal, Sushma Tamang and forwarders- Sabitra Bhandari, Rashmi Kumari Ghising, Chandra Bhandari, Anita KC and Rekha Poudel.
