POKHARA, Sept 4: Four people died after a landslide buried a house at Keware-7 in Syangja district in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
According to DSP Bir Bahadur Pulami Magar, the landslide triggered by torrential downpour buried the house of one Thaman Singh Saru at around 1 am today.
The deceased are Chandra Kumari Saru (78), Hom Kumari Mashrangi (32) of Malyangkot and Milan Mashrangi (1) and Poonam Mashrangi (7).
“The landslide occurred when all of them were sleeping,” said Mahara, “Five others sleeping in another room are alive.”
According to him, Hom Kumari had gone to her father’s house along with her son and a daughter to celebrate Teej festival.
The dead bodies are being taken to the district headquarters for postmortem.
