Foreign national among two dead in Rahughat Hydropower mudslide, five others hurt

The incident occurred at Audit Number 1, the access route leading to the main tunnel, when soil from the slope above fell on workers at the site in Daghnam-5, Phedi.

MYAGDI, Aug 18: A landslide at the under-construction Rahughat Hydropower Project in Raghuganga Rural Municipality, Myagdi, has killed two workers and injured five others.



The incident occurred at Audit Number 1, the access route leading to the main tunnel, when soil from the slope above fell on workers at the site in Daghnam-5, Phedi. The injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, police said.

Deputy Superintendent Police Surya Bahadur Thapa confirmed that both a Nepali and a foreign worker were among the deceased. The identities of the victims and injured are yet to be confirmed. Police teams have reached the site for investigation.
