KATHMANDU, Jan 22: The US dollar value has appreciated in a new exchange rate set by Nepal Rastra Bank for today.
The value of the Euro, UK pound sterling, Swiss franc, Australian dollar, Japanese yen, Chinese yuan, Qatari riyal, Thai baht, Malaysian ringgit, South Korean won, Swedish krona, Danish krone, Kuwaiti dinar, Bahraini dinar, and Omani riyal has also risen compared to the previous day. Meanwhile, the rates for some foreign currencies have remained stable.
According to Nepal Rastra Bank, the buying rate for 1 US dollar is Rs 138.23, and the selling rate is Rs 138.83. The buying rate for 1 European euro is Rs 143.06, and the selling rate is Rs 143.68. Similarly, the buying rate for 1 UK pound sterling is Rs 169.15, and the selling rate is Rs 169.89. The buying rate for 1 Swiss franc is Rs 151.70, and the selling rate is Rs 152.36.
Revised interest rate corridor system introduced
For 1 Australian dollar, the buying rate is Rs 85.94, and the selling rate is Rs 86.32. The buying rate for 1 Canadian dollar is Rs 95.71, and the selling rate is Rs 95.12. For 1 Singapore dollar, the buying rate is Rs 101.61, and the selling rate is Rs 102.05.
The buying rate for 10 Japanese yen is Rs 8.86, and the selling rate is Rs 8.90. For 1 Chinese yuan, the buying rate is Rs 18.98, and the selling rate is Rs 19.06. The buying rate for 1 Saudi Arabian riyal is Rs 36.84, and the selling rate is Rs 37. Similarly, the buying rate for 1 Qatari riyal is Rs 37.91, and the selling rate is Rs 38.08.
According to the central bank, the buying rate for 1 Thai baht is Rs 4.05, and the selling rate is Rs 4.07. For 1 UAE dirham, the buying rate is Rs 37.63, and the selling rate is Rs 37.80. The buying rate for 1 Malaysian ringgit is Rs 30.89, and the selling rate is Rs 31.02. For 100 South Korean won, the buying rate is Rs 9.58, and the selling rate is Rs 9.62. The buying rate for 1 Swedish krona is Rs 12.46, and the selling rate is Rs 12.52. The buying rate for 1 Danish krone is Rs 19.17, and the selling rate is Rs 19.26.
Nepal Rastra Bank has also set the buying rate for 1 Hong Kong dollar at Rs 17.75 and the selling rate at Rs 17.83. For 1 Kuwaiti dinar, the buying rate is Rs 448.13, and the selling rate is Rs 450.07. The buying rate for 1 Bahraini dinar is Rs 366.73, and the selling rate is Rs 368.32. For 1 Omani riyal, the buying rate is Rs 359.16, and the selling rate is Rs 360.71. The buying rate for 100 Indian rupees is Rs 160, and the selling rate is Rs 160.15.
Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that the exchange rates can be revised whenever necessary. It also noted that exchange rates set by commercial banks may differ and that the updated rates are available on the central bank’s website.
