Nepal slated in group B will take on Afghanistan on Tuesday in another group match.

This is the second hat-trick of Lama for Nepal in international football among three hat-tricks for Nepal so far.

Lama had scored her first hat-trick of the career in their 7-0 demolition over Pakistan during the 11th South Asian Games (SAG) held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, from January 29-February 8 earlier this year.

Skipper Gurung is the only other woman footballer to complete hat-trick. Gurung had achieved the feat during their 8-0 route over Sri Lanka at SAG. Women´s football was included in SAG for the first time in the 2010 SAG where Nepal bagged silver after they were defeated 3-1 by India in the final.

According to Sanjiv Mishra, head of the delegates of Nepali squad, Nepal had scored three goals each in the either halves on Sunday.

Lama put Nepal ahead in the 19th minute, netted another in the 34th minute and completed hat-trick in the 71st minute.

Lama opened scoring when she met Pramila Rai´s pass and skipper Gurung had set the pass for second goal while she succeeded in scoring hat-trick in her solo effort.

Rai´s header tallied the third-goal for the team five minutes ahead of the interval in corner of Laxmi Paudel. Sikpper Gurung made a skilful display for the fourth Nepali goal five minutes after the interval in her solo effort and scored her second and team´s fifth in the 67th minute.

Gurung made spectacular second bar goal from the box and Lama finally netted sixth to wrap up the match.

In a telephonic conversation with Republica, Nepali skipper Gurung, said they were slightly nervous before they opened scoring.

"We were slightly nervous before we scored the first goal but the confidence level rose up after the first goal," Gurung said, adding, "Our chances of making it to the semifinal will strengthen if we could win against Afghanistan in our next outings."

Nepal is facing Afghanistan for the first time.
