The stone-loaded tractor (Me 1 Ta 1492) headed for Shivagunj from Dudhe met with the accident at Naharchowk along the border between Satasidham-6 and 7. Police said the over-speeding tractor fell into a canal of Kankai Irrigation Project.
The five individuals died after being crushed by the stones that the truck was carrying. Among the dead are the tractor´s driver Krishna Majhi, 25, of Satasidham-7, Chatra Magar, 25, of Satasidham-6, Dev Shrestha, 25 of Satasidham-7, Tulasi Dhimal, 25 of Shivaganj-7 and Mukesh Niraula, 16, a schoolboy.
One person is missing, while five others escaped harm by jumping off the tractor.
