SIRAHA, Feb 10: Authorities have confiscated a pistol along with two rounds of ammunition from Siraha Prison boundary, leading to the arrest of 13 individuals, including the ringleader.
A special inspection carried out on Monday by the District Security Committee resulted in the recovery of the firearms from Indrajit Yadav, 'ringleader', inside the prison.
Chief District Officer Surendra Paudel reported that on Sunday, Yadav's group assaulted 10 fellow inmates and forcibly removed them from the prison.

CDO Paudel stated that 13 individuals, including Yadav, have been removed from the prison and are now kept in police custody facing charges related to the incident.
He noted, “We have taken them out from the prison and placed them in custody. Arrangements are underway to transfer them to a different prison.”
Following Yadav's arrest, his supporters within the prison reacted with shouting, arson, and vandalism.
The prison, designed to accommodate 150 inmates, currently houses 437 individuals. This overcrowding has previously led to conflicts among prisoners, resulting in injuries of 13 people during the last Shrawan (mid-July to mid-August).
