KATHMANDU, Nov 11: Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal has stated that Nepal has made notable progress in addressing corruption and money laundering cases in recent times.
Speaking at a meeting of the National Concern and Coordination Committee under the National Assembly on Tuesday, Minister Khanal remarked that, although international bodies had previously criticized Nepal for enacting anti-corruption laws without proper enforcement, the situation has now markedly improved.

“We have not only established the necessary legal framework but also achieved tangible progress in filing and pursuing corruption cases,” Minister Khanal said. “We will be able to present these developments before the international community during the upcoming review meeting scheduled for January.”
He further emphasized that the Government of Nepal remains fully committed to fulfilling its obligations and commitments made to international institutions in the areas of good governance, financial transparency, and anti-money laundering measures.
