KATHMANDU, Sept 1: The Supreme Court (SC) is holding the final hearing on the writ petition filed by the CPN-UML against the 'vote of confidence' taken by the Chief Minister (CM) of Koshi Province, Uddhav Thapa, today.
The UML filed a writ petition in the SC claiming that the ruling party had acted contrary to the constitution saying that even the members who presided over the provincial assembly meeting had given a vote of confidence to the CM. A full hearing on the writ petition has been scheduled for today.

During the preliminary hearing on the writ petition, on August 24, the bench of Justice Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada issued an interim order to the provincial government not to take long-term decisions, saying that the Koshi government had not followed the process of taking the vote of confidence.
