TIA reopens for domestic flights after heavy rain disruption

Domestic flights from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) have resumed after being suspended due to continuous heavy rainfall.

KATHMANDU, Oct 5: Domestic flights from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) have resumed after being suspended due to continuous heavy rainfall.



On Saturday morning, a few flights had departed before worsening weather forced authorities to halt all domestic operations, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded at the airport.

With weather conditions improving in several regions, domestic services have now restarted. International flights, however, continued throughout, although some were briefly diverted on Saturday evening before operations normalized later at night.
